I uninstalled Firefox on my computer, now running Chrome as my default browser.
I don’t use IE—I find the interface odd, among other things. And, you’re right about it’s bad reputation for security.
On the other hand, some have recommended Chrome. Google isn’t “pure” in PC matters either.
I’m not usually a big fan of boycotts, although the firing of Eich was despicable, and a lot of noise should be made. These gays are intolerant A-holes (reference intended), aren’t they?
Oh I don’t either. They will get whatever they want regardless. I just have an aversion to helping them screw us.
So they're watchin' you 'cause they're watchin' me.
Probably will find out that the PM folks are equally adamant about supporting LGTB causes. Then what?
I just transferred all my home computers to Pale Moon. It uses the open source Firefox underpinnings, looks and operates identical to FF and you can use most of the add-ons from FF.
There is a tool on the Pale Moon web site that will transfer all FF Profiles over to Pale Moon. I did this and didn't even have to re-log on to web sites like FR and others.
I was afraid the anger would subside too soon, but if the results of yesterdays polling at
https://input.mozilla.org/en-US/
are any indication, the righteous indignation is still going.
And in 2008, The 0ne did not believe in homosexual marriage, either.
Give Opera a try - http://www.opera.com/
Opera... I have tried it, although not in a few years. It’s definitely one of the non-Mozilla stream browsers that works well.
Switched over to Pale Moon and Comodo Dragon a few weeks ago. Both are doing everything I want.
Using Torch to read this thread. I have downloaded Opera but have not tried it yet.
Is Linux an operating system or a browser?
Any good alternative to Thunderbird for email that is as easy to use and move info to?
There are quite a number of situations in which Chrome sends data to Google: https://www.google.com/intl/en/chrome/browser/privacy/
Some features can be disabled: http://www.google.com/intl/en/chrome/browser/privacy/whitepaper.html
Unless Im at a google website there should be no data going to google.
In other words, look before you leap.
I am now using Pale Moon
Plenty of other browsers to try before I worry about it. In fact, My life has gotten better since I ditched a lot of overtly liberal companies from my buy/use preferences.
So one more won’t hurt. But if you want to help support libs when you don’t have to, that’s up to you.
Thanks for the link. I hate Chrome. I’ll try palemoon.
If I did that I’d be stuck with internet explorer; not an option.
Personally, I use Internet Explorer, but don't care whether others do or not.
But one thing to consider... of all the other browsers to use in place of Firefox, using Internet Explorer instead would piss off the Mozilla people the most. Therefore, I'm using IE.
