No kidding...wonder how many Secret Service agents Barack and Eric are going to assign to Al’s personal protection detail?

Obviously, the disclosure of this information is no accident. Did someone at Justice (or the White House) decide that Al’s usefulness was over, or did folks at the FBI—who had the job of “handling” their CI for decades—decide a little payback was in order?

This is funny because my father was a cop in New york city in the 60s and 70s and he said Al when he was a kid would always hang out in the station. I tell people that and they don’t believe me. Well here you go, he was working for the FBI, he liked to play cop.

Agreed.

And...I’d bet the good reverend Al’s service started with himself falling in an FBI honey trap.

Later paid for the same information, with the threat that if exposed he’d claim it was racist over zealous pursuit.

First of all...he does not need street cred anymore.

Secondly his defenders will just say he was screwy ng over the Italian mobsters to protect the black record in artists who wet being victimized.

But we all know the FBI had something on him....he was dirty and he flipped to being a snitch to save his own fat ass....and then he ran buck wild for 30 years and became rich.

I’m cool with it as long as we see a RICO indictment on the president and his men . . .

I’m sure that is why he was doing it . . . aren’t the rest of you? /sarc

Al saved his own fat ass by becoming a rat for the Feds. They were going to arrest him for cocaine or diddling little boys so he became their snitch. Al had the choice of being a man or being a dirty rat. It was an easy decision for him to become the fat rat bastard he always was.

At one point before he was “flipped,” Sharpton participated in a mob scheme to create a business front that would seek a share of lucrative Con Edison set-asides intended for minority-owned businesses. That deal, which involved garbage collection contracts, cratered when the power company determined that Sharpton’s silent partner was Genovese captain Matthew “Matty the Horse” Ianniello. Details of the Con Ed plot emerged at a federal criminal trial of Ianniello and his business partner Benjamin Cohen. It was Cohen, who worked across the hall from Spring Records, who recruited Sharpton for the mob garbage gambit.

The existence of the other 1983 videotape showing Mr. Sharpton listening to the undercover agent offering cocaine and saying at one point ''I hear you'' was disclosed in articles in Newsday several years later. Law enforcement officials later told The New York Times that while Mr. Sharpton could not be prosecuted for what he said on the tape, they had bluffed him shortly after the tape was made into believing that he faced charges and so persuaded him to become a federal informant. They said he provided information about meetings held in the basement of Danny Pagano's father, Joseph, also reputed to be a mobster, information that led to the planting of a court-authorized listening device there. Joseph Pagano died before any charges were filed.
