Yes, I agree. I meant honest in that they are very hard working and not the caricature of drug dealing or theifs. The owner of the temp agency I worked for one Saturday, told me that the owners of that nursery could not get any e else to work those jobs other than those Mexicans. K could believe it, that day we had to load up a big rig with plants and trees mostly by hand. I am in decent shspe..almost passed out at one point. Don’t know if the owners profit margin would allow it, but the pay should be quite a bit higher than $10 per hour, then other locals would do it, I believe.

I find your posts insulting!

AMERICAN CITIZENS are left begging for work......any work......a job oppening produces thousands applying for whatever positions they have......and usually there are only a few positions to fill.

Truly, how dare you........mouthing the George Bush propaganda.....’doing the work Americans won’t do’

Jeb Bush and George Bush are the front and back sides of the same slimy coin......no difference.

THEY BOTH MAKE ME ILL!

Even if they were green cards, none of us here would hire them-we do not have enough work for our own neighbors and friends who live out here.

The area I live in used to have isolated little enclaves of vacation homes, fancy dude ranches, cabins and RV parks-including Thousand Trails-with seasonal rates for the snowbirds who used to stay here every year from Oct-Nov to April of the next year-all out here in the middle of ranch/redneck country-our economy depended heavily on it-now they are all closed, the homes are falling into ruin because no one can afford to travel here from the northern states and Canada in an RV, much less stay for the winter.

Obama’s economy has killed it all, and it is a dead zone now-we are all willing to do any kind of work we can find, and there is precious little of it. Most of us do physical jobs anyway, so I don’t know anyone who isn’t willing to do just about any work for any price, screw minimum wage...

I don’t know many here-Texas natives of all ethnicities-who would not work loading a truck, digging ditches for a septic tank and drain field or loading fill into concrete forms for a foundation pour-all for $9-$10 per hour, and be damn grateful for the money...

You left off, "For the wages they were willing to pay."
