Yes, you are correct, they have a child like view. In their minds their ideas are like a solid, no matter how much force you exert on it, the sphere does not change shape, just directon. If you try to express to them that a push on one side of baloon deforms the baloon sphere along with changing its direction they just don’t get it. They think in simple terms, put more money into the system, everyone gets richer. They never see that pushing more script into the wage system has far broader effects than simply putting more script in the hands of employees i.e. raising prices, causing further wage inflation or losing businesses to foreign competition.
