English as a second language. Ebonics being the first.
Without a doubt. I clicked the link to the source, Fox news, and found another story about three Marines getting hurt in a fight.
From the article ...More 21st Century "journalism." BTW - no word if the broken beer bottle was arrested.

“The Los Angeles Times reported that one of the Marines was stabbed in the face by a broken beer bottle.”

More 21st Century “journalism.” BTW - no word if the broken beer bottle was arrested.

One broken beer bottle by itself presents no problems and is quite harmless. However, if you see yourself approaching a grouping of broken beer bottles, divert your path and avoid that grouping.

It’s common-sense, it’s not a sign that you are “broken-beer-bottle phobic”, although some might try to paint you that way.

I learned many years ago, when I was in the Army about the time you were in the Marines, slightly before you though, that one does not break the beer bottle it has a tendency to shatter in ones hands. (To John Wayne.)

One uses the full bottle, the force of the liquid rushing to the bottom of the bottle increases the force of the blow and causes any breakage to occur from the center down to the bottom away from the hand, fewer stitches that way.
