I believe the Tea Party is picking the wrong issue, in this coming race.
Do not just fight against Obamacare.
That is just returning what we had.
That was also broken.
The TEA Party needs to cycle though ~4 issues rotating every week (could be 3 issues with the 4th rotation being the issue de jure).
How?
How is not having a “pay this tax for being alive” broken?
“I believe the Tea Party is picking the wrong issue, in this coming race. Do not just fight against Obamacare. That is just returning what we had. That was also broken.”
Nice paraphrasing of Democratic talking points - in other words, “the Tea Party is offering no alternatives”
Here’s the solution - Repeal the ACA taxes (that means you, Paul Ryan). Rescind the funding to enforce ACA. Trust the innovation of the free market.
End it, don’t mend it.
Louisiana Governor Bobby Jindal has made a good working plan for a substitute for this disastrous atrocity called the “Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act of 2010”, which neither protects patients nor provides affordable care. Essentially, the individual purchases a major medical catastrophic plan tailored to personal and family needs, and day-to-day coverage of medical services are paid out from a supplementary savings account, which is there for the smaller claims for medical services, like health-maintenance and routine medical examinations. There are also a number of other provisions, of relatively lesser importance, but the “Obamacare” legislation addresses neither the functions mentioned above, the availability of true insurance coverage, which is risk-based and NOT an entitlement, and the actual and necessary personal responsibility factor.
There is a way to do this, and do it right. But the Current Regime now squatting in the White Hut is too ideologically enamored of its signature “achievement” to even discuss its major and multiple failures to address the problems it claims to be its reason for its existence.
Not as broken as ObamaCare. Tort reform, allowing shopping around in other States, and other Republican ideas over the years would go a long way in fixing what we had. The new deal is un-fixable.
