Exposing the Myths of Recreational Sex: Every young person needs to know the following three truths
American Thinker ^ | 04/03/2014 | Janice Shaw Crouse

There is a mountain of media out there promoting a phony philosophy about the joys of recreational sex – casual, risky sexual encounters that do not involve commitment.  One need look no farther than the junk advice featured in magazines like Cosmopolitan to see just how pernicious and pervasive recreational sex is.

The time for some straight talk about this sexual trend is long overdue.  Every young person needs to know the following three truths:

Truth #1: Recreational sex has produced dramatic increases in sexually transmitted diseases (STDs).  Girls who are sexually active in their early teens are twice as likely to get an STD, and about 40% will become pregnant.  According to Dr. Meg Meeker, a pediatrician and author, “[a]lmost half of all girls are likely to become infected with an STD during their very first sexual experience.”  Girls are far more susceptible to STDs than guys because of the biology of the cervix.  And a report, The Cost of Free Love, from Concerned Women for America (CWA) documents the fact that there are now some 49 different STDS.

There is no escaping the fact that we are in the midst of an STD epidemic, with more than 20 million new STD cases every year – the majority of them affecting 15-25 year olds, and triple the number just 6 years ago.  These inconvenient facts go unreported, and supposedly responsible adults still encourage early sexual activity for girls.

Truth #2: Recreational sex leaves young people alone and lonely.  Conventional wisdom says that if you tell a lie often enough, people will begin to believe it.

I haven't read the article yet, but what I see is the recreational sex being queer instead of straight.

Sure, we in the sixties had more sexual fun than all of humanity in its history, but somewhere along the line, after VD of various degrees and children out of wedlock and IT'S problems, we settled down .... maybe I should say ... we white people settled down and got jobs and married and licked our wounds and "taught our children well" and actually started going back to church (or started going for the first time)

But the left saw one of the greatest tools to destroy America and ran with it.

I recall a recent segment on MSNBC discussing the contraceptive mandate where one of them, I think Karen Finney, called Rec sex ‘joy’

It went like :”Republicans want to stop women from experiencing joy”

People think this is insane, but I think we have to demystify the orgasm. People today will sell their souls, health, lives, marriages and risk their presidency for a 30-second spell of tension and release. Weeeeee! There is so much value put on this little human function, which is really very much like a sneeze. Ah ah ah ah ah achoo!

I am ridiculed all the time when I draw this parallel, because everyone wants to think they felt the earth move. But really... Strip it down (heh heh). An orgasm is like a sneeze. It’s no huge achievement.

God bless you!

Adultery has little to do with the orgasm. Many times, it’s the feeling of being “wanted”.

From the party of mass murder and social engineering. What about the cost to families that have to deal with teenage pregnancies? Of course the legft only cares about one thing, destroying morality and stability of family values.

Disease, unwanted pregnancy, emotional backlash, physical danger.
It seems every generation must discover it by themselves. Usually when it's too late.

It makes no sense that the same busybodies who are concerned about second and third hand smoke are so unconcerned about first hand infections.
Especially when some STD's are incurable.

I'm a 34 year old man, and I agree. However, it's often used as a "drug," if you will. People can be addicted to alcohol, drugs, gambling, and sex. They're not addicted to the physical act of sex, they're addicted to the climax. I see it more that kids today, and those unwilling to commit, are more concerned with "getting high" than being emotionally bonded with someone for the long haul.

Having been married for just under 2 years, I can tell you that the long-term dividends being with my wife mean more than any orgasm ever did.

This seems that it would be common knowledge, but the lies of the MSM and the bulk of our modern culture have blinded folks.

Not insane.

A bit of tunnelvision however.

As has been pointed out, adultery isn’t always about orgasms. It can be about feeling needed. Or wanted. Or young again. Or in control. Or not in control. Many many things.

Sometimes it is about orgasms. Often orgasms, plural. Preferably in a long string close together. Not the aforementioned thirty second event. So people (not just men - the letter of Saint Gloria to the church in Steinem explaining how the Fishmaelites cast out the useless Bicyclenes isn’t in scripture) who want that go from partner to partner, seeking that. Often when they find it it comes for a fee.

Lust has ever been a human failing. For Potifer’s wife as much as for King David.

There is nothing new under the sun.
