I agree that discipline is needed,

However, to be effective the disciplinary act must be seen and acknowledged as effective discipline by both parties.

Unfortunately, the primary disciplinary tool available to schools today is suspension. All other forms of lesser discipline flow downward from that. This works for students and parents who want their children to be in school. But, it fails miserably when either the child or parent views suspension as a reward.

That, IMHO, is the core problem of the black child suspension issue. And until the society and school systems come up with an effective and acknowledged school disciplinary this problem will only get worse.

The odds of that happening? Unfortunately ZERO based on the Courts, politically driven child advocates, and the education system itself.

I’m not surprised they left. There are very good teachers there, but I could not work in that environment ever again. Not nearly enough duct tape and bubble wrap issued for teachers, haha.
