The “authorities” are saying there is no connection. But for the feds to say there is no connection to the jihad threat guy from last week is a very flimsy denial, and shows they are trying to cover their asses while they scramble to do damage control—there’s NO WAY they can know for sure, this early, that there is no jihad connection related to the guy from last week.
