“...in the childish phraseology of Valery Jarret...”

The adolescent junior-high-schoolers are running the show
and the adolescent junior-high-schoolers in the electorate are cheering them on.

Tell me why again, you think this is the purview of the federal government?

I looked at my copy of the Constitution again,
and sure enough, it is still not in there.

I’ll take your #1 and your #2 and substitute this for your #3:

Congress has the authority to remove the mandates,
and to classify all expenses for health insurance
and other medical expenses as income tax credits.

(easy-peasy)

It's not.

The federal government has no business telling anyone to buy anything including insurance and the constitution doesn't give the federal government the right to run a national insurance exchange.

but that is not was I was talking about.

I was talking about the situation we are currently in (that I wish we were not in) where NOW, because of the implementation of Obamacare we have millions of sick people who were given insurance because the government forced insurance companies to accept them.

What is to be done with them specifically if we succeed with repealing Obamacare?

I don't know why most of this thread keep missing what I am saying.

let me be clear - I HATE OBAMACARE, I think it's unconstitutional and should never have been passed. (is that clear enough?)

BUT, now it has been implemented.

And if we want to repeal it, something is going to have to be legislatively done to address those who NOW HAVE INSURANCE who previously would have been denied insurance because of the part of Obamacare that forced insurance companies to accept those with pre-existing conditions.

Why is no one getting this?????

If we just repeal Obamacare.... All those people will STILL have the insurance they rushed out to get!!!!!

Which means MILLIONS of people with expensive chronic conditions will be left on the insurance companies policies, which will drive insurance costs through the roof.

You see, just repealing Obamacare wont solve THAT problem.

Something MORE will have to be done to address those people.

The government would have to pass a law literally taking away the insurance those people bought and have been paying premiums on.

Why does no one see this?????

-
An insurance policy is an agreement with terms of expiration; it is not permanent.
As far as the relationship between the insurance company and the insured,
the insurer could drop 'em;
or keep 'em;
or exclude the preexisting condition for a period of time or forever;
or increase the premiums;
or increase the deductible;
or do whatever they wanted to do in a free market.

Why aren't you getting this?????

um... maybe I am wrong, but I don’t think insurance companies can just drop people willy-nilly. Otherwise they would drop anyone whenever they got sick.
