Will a warming world eventually kill off roe deer in France?

That question is being raised in light of new research indicating that the animals are having a hard time adapting to climate change.

In a study published Tuesday in the open-access journal PLOS Biology, researchers tracked the births and subsequent survival of roe deer fawns in France's Champagne region.

They noted that spring vegetation on which the adult deer depend for food was starting to flourish two weeks earlier that it did nearly three decades ago, due to gradual warming. But although spring was arriving earlier, the animals' birth season stayed the same, failing to keep pace with the changing temperatures.

Am I missing something, or is this what my father used to call "gobbledygook"? Why would an earlier spring harm their mating pattern? I would expect the opposite, that it would create a more advantageous situation for mating.

I had two close but lucky encounters here.

The first was with three deer and the second was with one.

I came up on them in the dark with my high beams OFF but fortunately they stood still watching the cars headlights and I was able to swerve the car around/through, them without hitting any,

Neither case did I hit the breaks, I learned that from driving on ice.

I've been asking that question for years. It seems that warming would have BOTH positive and negative effects, but libs insists it would be 110% negative and catastrophic.

It started here in the late 1990s and they still show no restraint.

So we are getting lots of skinny houses being built dangerously close to each other (fire hazard), and lots of ugly apartments painted bark blue and mustard-yellow.

estrus and rut in deer is trigger by light, or more specifically a decrease in light signaled by the shortening days of autumn.

This whole article is a crock given that they are postulating that earlier greening, i.e. more food sooner is negatively affecting their fawn survival, while admitting that the actual population had consistent positive growth rates for the entire 27 years of the study.

But because the growth rate declined (while still remaining positive) 6% over that time it’s because of global warming. Not something more obvious like IDK, increased competition for food sources due to increased demand from the increased population.

The stupid agenda is strong in this one.
