To: Rushmore Rocks
It ususally erupts every 60,000 years. It has now been 64,000 years.

Every 600,000 years...and it has been 640,000 years. Off by a factor of 10 years. We're still 40,000 years late. I'm 150 miles from Yellowstone (SW).

Disagree. I was told it was due every 600 million years and it has now been 640 million years. We're still 40 million years late.

I’m 50 miles north of Yellowstone. We’ve had a rough winter, but if the caldera blows, won’t be any need to sweat the weather.

Even if it was a 6000 year cycle, and it had been 6400 years, the likelihood of it occurring during our lifetime would probably be the same.
