Lucky shot at that range. He could probably hit center mass all day long but I don’t see how it’s possible he even knew where the bomb trigger was. Still, it’s a heartwarming story.

Yeah, hitting the switch would be luck. Would the vest even be "armed"??? Then again, I guess these guys aren't too into safety...

I'm wondering if the impact of a bullet is enough to detonate the explosives? I know it takes a pretty good kick to initiate modern stable explosives. But I'm thinking a round from a .338 Lapua mag would be as likely as any to do it.

Reading his story I think he is also admitting some luck with the shot. He probably knew he was going to hit the guy. When the target blew up surprised the shooter.
