I guess this is literally what you mean by a “no-brainer”. Critical thinking is a commodity in growing scarcity. And nothing is being done to stem or reverse this tendency.

We expect the young to experiment and defy conventional wisdom. Who knew it could continue into middle age and beyond?

it may sound trite but i think its a deep statement even if i say so myself.
