Obamacare: California proving new health care law can work
San Jose Mercury ^ | 03/28/2014 | Tracy Seipel

It's almost become a cliché: If the new health care law makes it here, it can make it anywhere.

As thousands of California procrastinators try to beat Monday's midnight deadline to apply for a health care plan, they'll be joining more than 1 million others in the Bellwether State who already have enrolled through California's health insurance exchange. And another 2 million have been determined eligible for Medi-Cal, the state's program for the poor.

1 million getting a high deductible, not accepted everywhere, with geographic limits subsidized by their neighbors health care insurance coverage while 2 million get signed up on a totally taxpayer funded Medi-Cal program. While the rest of us are forced to pay more for private policies because our existing plans were determined to be "substandard". Yep looks like California once more is once more proving that Obamacare is working.

People will believe any well packaged fiction however ludicrous. Critical reasoning is not an American forte these days.

Another problem is California cannot afford to fund this program alone and the Government cannot afford to fund Californians without the participation of 49 other states.

Starting, as they do here, with a bad and invalid premise, does not bode well for obammycare (and I'm glad).

I had my Medicare Advantage Plan cancelled here in CA. So I had to find a new policy. Just wondering how many like me are being counted as “signing up?” BTW, didn’t use Covered CA, but rather joined AMAC and got excellent coverage through them. Wife cancelled her AARP policy and went with AMAC too. Great bunch of people who are what AARP claims to be, but isn’t.

They can let California have their own system that they are responsible for.

Just dont involve us to pay for it before and after it goes bankrupt.

Like Stalin’s collectivization of agriculture that starved 5 million, Obamacare will be praised to the bitter end by the true believer/koolaid drinkers. Like Harry Reid’s mantra of all the critics being abject liars (which he now denies he said), the left will continue to deny reality and embrace absurdity. Their are absolutely blind to human suffering when their cause is being advanced.

LOL

Yeah it “works”.

It triples my premium, and makes my deductible (currently 1500) into an outrageous 6000.

This USED to be called ‘Catastrophic health insurance’, meant not as true coverage, but as an emergency backup when the doctor told you that you have hair cancer.

Our New, Happy Lives 05/13/2017

“Comrades!” cried an eager youthful voice. “Attention, comrades! Yo! We have glorious news for you.
We have won the healthcare battle! Returns now completed of the output of all classes show that the standard of care has risen by no less than twenty percent over the past year.
All over Cali this morning there were irrepressible spontaneous demonstrations when thousands of artists, musicians and no-longer-disgruntled foreign guests marched out of loft apartments and barrios and paraded through the streets with banners voicing their gratitude to our Maximum Leader, President-for-Life Obama, for the new, happy life which his wise leadership has bestowed upon us. Here are some of the completed figures. Soma, up 30%—“
