One of the biggest problems people have when they leave office after a lifetime of public service is laundering their money into daylight.
So they write books for huge advances that no one reads. They set up foundations that receive millions in donations that probably come from their own accounts in Saudi Arabia. They accept shares in companies that are back-dated to show a tremendous rise in value. They become partners in firms for which they have no duties but are paid millions (probably their own money).
I'm not casting aspersions on any particular person; you see this dynamic with politicians in both parties. But, OK, mostly Democrats. But we could probably name a Repub or two.
The thing to remember for me is that no one bribes an ex-president. The problem is explaining later where the money came from. That requires the help of friends, allies, and lawyers. It also puts them on the hook with where ever their money was parked all those years.
I can GUARANTEE that the writers are even now working on a “Sons of Anarchy” script for this one.
These crooked Dems out there should join the writers’ union.
I’d be willing to bet that if the alphabet agencies really get down and look at this clown, you’ll find the same people funding him as the people who funded Johnny Chung and his hand off of cash to Slick Willy.

Obviously his support of gun “control” is meant to drive up the prices for his side business. Sen Harry Greed has shown the way by for decades using legislation to drive up or down land prices for fun and profit.
