We felt that one. House moving side to side. I'm sure someone will have more detail. USGS reports 5.4 near La Habra (Los Angeles area).

Felt down in the north end of San Diego county too. It followed a smaller one a few hours earlier also La Habra.

Yep. It gave us pretty good jolt in Downey. We didn’t feel the first one (3.6 @ depth of 6.9km), but it was impossible to miss the 2nd one (5.1 @ depth of 1.9km).

A little closer to the coast and we had some nice movement for about 5 or 6 seconds. It felt like longer of course, but nothing hugh or series. No damage here.

Talked to some friends in Norwalk, they were at church and felt it hard. We felt it in Palm Springs, but slow and rolling. Hard enough to make the windchimes we have in the house rattle (our earthquake detector).

In 20 years, 2 people have died in California earthquakes. That is the same number killed by OJ Simpson. So the odds dying in a Calif earthquake are the same as being killed by OJ.

Yo, peeps. I am situated in East Whittier, about 2 miles from the epicenter. At 2003 PDT we felt the 3.6 foreshock good. Then the big one 5.1 at around 2108. Stuff was jumping around in the house. Just like the Whittier Narrows 1987.

Epicenter looks like the old Beckman Instruments facility in La Habra, at Harbor and Lambert, which has been in the process of all being torn down.

Another aftershock just hit at 2131, prolly a 4 pointer.

Weren’t there 20-30 people die in the Northridge quake in 1994?

All 4 quakes centered between Imperial and Central (NS), with Harbor and Puente the East/West borders.

First was 6.9K deep, 2nd 1.9 deep, 3 and 4 0.1 K deep, just a few hundred feet.
