It’s hard to think of an invention, in our lifetime, that rivals the iPhone. From nothing to everyone must own one. Many of my non technical friends embrace it. Sure we had laptops and cellphones, but this brought technology to a level where the masses got on board.
Example, as I gaze out the window, my neighbor walks his dog; staring at his phone, not his dog. A quantum shift in our interaction with the outside world has occurred.
We will be hearing more of these genesis stories in the future.
what do you do for an encore?
in 5 years, what we now call an iPhone
will be selling for ten bucks.
This article is not behind a paywall. A trick I use for WSJ articles is to get them from Google News. Google for some reason usually has the entire text of WSJ articles when they are not available on the WSJ web site.
