Carter also said that Russia’s seizure of Crimea was “inevitable.” I wonder what he would think of Russia taking the Baltic nations, also because of their “longstanding ties” to the old Soviet Union?

Carter is correct that there is an Israeli animus against him, and that can translate into an Israel-supporter animus. He, of course, has an animus against Israel.

To go from there to "that's the reason Obama doesn't talk to me" - unsupported. Possibly even paranoid.

But Mr. Tobin and Commentary do not have a basis in the statements cited to assert that "Carter blames the Jews."

Carter always disdained the Jews and was heavily influenced by his National Security Advisor “Zbig” Brezhinsky who really hated the Jews and Israelis. Despite the Camp David Accord success, Carter hated Begin and Israel. This hatred only increased after the Jews supported Reagan in 1980.
Since (thankfully) being voted out of office, this hatred only increased.
Obama is of similar disdain for the Jews & Israelis but for different reasons. Once again, “Zbig” Brezhinsky was Obama’s Foreign affairs advisor before his election and we see the same “Zbig” hand in Us Foreign Policy which today is just as disasterous as it was under Carter. Carter ruined US Foreign Policy, Obama utterly destroyed it.
