He was a bit player in the closing act of a debacle that tossed territorial integrity overboard when our bipartisan foreign-policy solons decided it was inconvenient to their trendy priorities. In this instance, it was about appeasing Islamic supremacists.

Remember that when those same neo-cons start blathering about the sanctity of international law and sovereignty.

To the extent that I might support any international agency -- and this a doubtful premise -- I would not support a League of Nations, a UN or a NATO. I would support an International Border Protection Agency (IBPA). Here's what I mean:

The US doesn't need bases in Germany, Japan, Korea, or anywhere else. The internal community needs 2-4 bases in the world, with immediate strike capability. If anyone (aside from the IBPA), anywhere, moves military force across an international border, then the IBPA jumps into action and fights until it seizes control (or utterly destroys) the capitol of the government which authorized the illegal border incursion. Then a new government is installed and everyone goes home.

Civil war? Domestic trouble? No one cares. And no one enters the country to "help calm things down". Hey, you cross that border -- you lose your capitol. And frankly, if you are a big, strong country -- who wants to send 30 divisions to take your capitol????? We'll just nuke it instead.

Respect the borders. Enforce the borders. Don't be a policeman handing out tickets to the bad guy.

The two wrongs Kosovo and Ossetia used are pseudo examples. Both were Crime-as,all invasions of soverign territory. What if England demanding english speaking Canada surrender their rights to govern themselves to London’s Parliment ? Or the same with Austrailia. Are the better comparisons .

Just watched a documentary on the Hitler policies of growing Germany in the 30’s. It was like watching todays news all over again. Austria, Czechoslovakia, Poland, Latvia, Estonia, Lithuania, and Putin is using the same tactics and virtually the same language and excuses to support his actions. All we need now is Kerry jumping off a B-767 waving a piece of paper saying, “Peace in our time.”

Obama and Secretary of State Clinton looked the other way at Zelaya’s incitements, condemned his removal as a “coup,” and demanded that he be restored to power out of respect for “democratic elections” (never you mind the rigorous democratic processes that ousted him).

The first big indication that the rule of law had no meaning at all to the 0bama administration. Ideology and cronyism first last and always.

We lost everything we worked for in ending the Cold War, because of that stupid interference in Kosovo.

It has been rich indeed to hear Obama, who oozes contempt for his constitutional duty to execute the laws faithfully, whine about Putin’s rogue stampede over the decidedly more vaporous principles of international law.

Thank you. I have been almost a broken record here saying this as well.
