Jim Morrison's tribute to Kurt Weill.

Wouldn't that tribute be Alabama Song?

“Moon of Alabama” was from “The Rise and Fall of the City of Mahagonny” by Brecht and Weill. Morrison was a big fan of Brecht and Weill, and “People are Strange” was his attempt to write a modern tune in their style. It not only sounds like the kind of twisted Brecht-Weill tune they would have written in the Twenties, but it translates quite nicely into German.
