I have a Ford CMax Energi. Cold weather knocks about 5 miles off the range, supposedly due to the climate control. When it is really cold, I use the hybrid setting to run the engine. Once the car is warm, I switch over to PHEV first mode. I get my 5 miles range back. HOWEVER I would not have paid extra for the PHEV Energi if I did not get back the 4000 bucks rebate from the tax payers. Most of my local trips do not use gasoline at all, of course, I am retired.
What do you consider “cold”? (here, in ND, it is -20 to -30F and below, and anything above freezing is “warm” for a winter day)
