Takes a special breed to make it through a ND winter, especially if you work outside.

Wonder what kind of salary I could get with a move up North? Hmmmm...

How to get talented people to work in the middle of nowhere. Answer: Offer them money.

This is true. The post office is paying me an insane amount of money to temporarily work up there. Winter was BRUTAL.

Interesting how boom times are happening in North Dakota.
The winters are not for the faint of heart. But, the energy field is booming there. And related service industries are doing well too.
this is capitalism at work. Good for them in ND.

North Dakota is/was a wonderful place to live. This Texan lived for 3 1/2 years when my husband worked for an oil company.
Don’t know how it is today, as the population has boomed since the big oil discovery there. The population when we were there was something around 3,000.

Do they have a website for jobs in ND? Maybe they should set one up.

I think I read an article last year that McDonalds and walmart type companies were offering workers 15-20 dollars an hour to start just because of lack of workers.

Try 10:30 pm even in the southeast corner of the state (Fargo) where I grew up. My sandlot team got more at bats in an average summer day than today’s little league team will get in a whole season.

Yup. As is the entire midwest aka “flyover country” for those from Rio Linda...
Yes you have to have the sense to wear proper clothing, but many look at this as a survival skill, a form of “prepping” if you will. I would hate to become unable to not just survive, but to thrive in a four season climate.
