John Kerry likens Crimea 'fervor' to WWII build-up

US Secretary of State John Kerry warned Russia on Tuesday against any military incursion into eastern Ukraine and likened the "nationalistic fervor" fueled by the Crimea crisis to the build-up before World War II.

Any moves by Russia to march into eastern Ukraine "would be as egregious as any step that I can think of that would be taken by a country in today's world, particularly by a country like Russia, where so much is at stake," Kerry said. (SNIP) Kerry said comments from Putin about what was happening in Crimea "just didn't jive with reality or with what's happening on the ground."

"And the president may have his version of history, but I believe that he and Russia, for what they have done, are on the wrong side of history."

The idiot speaks, using the meaningless, rhetorical "WRONG SIDE OF HISTORY!!" again.

I'm sure that just terrifies the Russians, right?? I mean, what is coming next? "Bible-thumping, gun-toting, redneck racist Russians"???

I especially liked this line: "The United States on Monday unveiled a slew of sanctions against seven Russians in President Vladimir Putin's inner circle and warned of further moves."

They forgot to add the word "meaningless" in front of "sanctions".

Yes, to liberal globalists like Kerry, being a “Nationalist” is the worst possible sin you can commit.

"just didn't jive with reality . . ."

Kerry is an idiot, but I can't believe he doesn't know the difference between jibe and jive. This is probably a misquote by an ignorant reporter.

Fiddlesticks.

Now Kerry pretends to know Russia history better than Vladimir Putin?

6 months ago, Skerry couldn’t find Ukraine on the map, even with 20X focals.

lets not get carried away just yet.

One might posit that it is within the realm of possibility that America, indeed the world, might yet rue the election of Barack Obama.

It still seems unlikely, but it is within the realm.

John Kerry gives me hope

If Kerry wants to guarantee the start of WWW III, all he has to do is convince NATO to make Ukraine a member.

I heard the repeat of “wrong side of history” on the radio earlier today. They seem hell-bent on wearing that phrase as thin as a strand of spider silk.

There it as again. These people really have a Christ complex. They really believe their own propaganda.

History has to occur before the wrong side is known.

I've had this feeling that Kerry was going to start a war before his time as Secretary of State was up. Just didn't imagine WW-III. Ironic for an Anti-War protester.

"...a country in today's world, particularly by a country like Russia, where so much is at stake," ...

That is meaningless rhetoric too. Kerry might as well be speaking authentic frontier gibberish.

Well the basic problem is the us/soros/eu-German meddling these last few years made Russia very nervous. Russia will not accept a western takeover of Ukraine, no matter how it might be packaged, especially if the door were open to any western military entering. Right or wrong. The second problem Is, of course, that the current regime in Wash DC has less than Zero credibility. So while a Reagan or maybe a Truman or an Eisenhower could have maybe done something positive , that’s impossible when all the involved parties just laugh at youknowwho.

If memory serves me correctly, Kerry was a C- student at Yale, but for some unfathomable reason, the powers that be expect us (and the Russians) to listen to the dribble that squirts out of his mouth.

Then again, perhaps he is correct, and this is a build-up to the next World War. The global economy sucks, the dollar is in free fall, unemployment is still unacceptably high, governments around the globe are burdened with trillions of dollars in unfunded liabilities, and they still can't get a majority of the population onboard with the scams of Climate Change, renewable energy, homosexual agenda, gun control, etc. I may be a newbie but that doesn't mean I can't read the writing on the wall. Got my tinfoil hat ready to wear when the missing Malaysian Airline plane miraculously reappears and crashes into a building.
