A pastor recently diagnosed with cancer, and who is covered under Obamacare, tells a local Iowa reporter that there's "no compassion in the Affordable Care Act."
Back in January, Pastor Angran was diagnosed with stage three cancer of the esophagus. He had insurance, but because of a previous heart condition, it did not cover the treatments he needed for his cancer. He found that out just minutes before receiving life-saving chemo," says the local reporter.
The pastor says, "One of the workers came and said let me talk to you. And so I went to talk to her. She says that we found out that your insurance does not include chemo."

I hate to say it but he could probably have put in for a sex change operation (fully paid for) under obamacare.
So his original insurance didn’t cover chemo, and his new insurance isn’t free? What’s the thrust, that medical care isn’t socialized enough?
The word "compassion" is not in its vocabulary, other than to be used as a weapon to accuse the peasants of having no compassion when they complain about taxes.
“He had insurance, but because of a previous heart condition, it did not cover the treatments he needed for his cancer. He found that out just minutes before receiving life-saving chemo,”
Doesn’t make sense. How come a pre-existing heart condition affect his insurance in regards to Cancer treatment?
Makes no sense
Him can a heart condition affect cancer?
I thought ObamaCare® meant he would be covered everything
What happend to Obama’s story about his mother being denied treatment and this law would prevent denial based on previous condition.
He has basically throat cancer and he can talk about this?
So if his new insurance costs $800 a month, and he can't afford it, who should pay for it?
Read it again. It’s not the plan he purchased under Obamacare that refused chemo, it was his old health insurance. He purchased an Obamacare plan precisely because the old plan wouldn’t cover the chemo.
"You effed up, you trusted us."
This story is misleading. His care would be covered under the so called Affordable Care Act but he balked at the $800.00 a month premium. Now if that premium covered both he and his wife that is an excellent price. Even if it was for him alone it was a dang good rate.
I don’t like Obamacare but some people do benefit from it and it reads as though he would have been one of them. Cancer treatment is very expensive and getting that treatment for a cost of $800.00 a month plus his deductibles means he comes out way ahead cost wise. If he elected to reject the coverage because of cost maybe he never had to shop for an individual policy before, if he had he would realize just how inexpensive $800.00 per month for insurance really is.
I’ll wager that maybe 1 out of 25 people who read the article will understand that is NOT the Obamacare plan that refused the chemo.
Yes, and the shame of it is that mistaken impression will be used to claim that all Obamacare horror stories are false.
Everyone has been focusing on the "affordable" part.
What about the "protection" part?

The headline is misleading. He is complaining that his Obamacare insurance cost $800/mo. Apparently his church wouldn’t pay his health insurance, and being a good liberal, he thought Obamacare was free. The real question is why his previous insurance wouldn’t cover chemo. I suspect there is more to this story.
Maybe his old insurance company ran the numbers and figured it wasn’t cost effective to pay out for chemo when is heart condition makes long-term survival iffy anyway. I’d call it a Death Panel, but we all know private insurance companies don’t have those.
We had a discussion of it over here. It’s a misleading and deceptive article ...

GAFreedom clarified it over on the previous Freeper thread on this article ...
Did some digging. In this article (http://freebeacon.com/iowa-pastor-diagnosed-with-cancer-finds-obamacare-anything-but-affordable/), it says his ACA insurance doesn’t start for another two weeks, and that he finds the price of the ACA insurance that covers the treatment to be unaffordable. So it’s his old insurance that doesn’t cover the treatment. And basically, he’s ticked that Obummercare doesn’t pay for the costs racked up by his old insurance. My sympathy more or less goes away at that point.
Exactly. Sanctioned extortion, terrorism and hostage holding.
The mafia without style or initiative.
I gotta ask...
Pastor...who’d you vote for in the two previous presidential elections?
