KUALA LUMPUR, Malaysia — Malaysian Prime Minister Najib Razak said Saturday that a missing passenger jet was steered off course after its communications systems were intentionally disabled and could have potentially flown for seven additional hours.
In the most comprehensive account to date of the plane’s fate, Najib drew an ominous picture of what happened aboard Malaysia Airlines Flight MH370, saying investigators had determined there was “deliberate action by someone on the plane.”

Wonder if it could have landed and refueled? Or somehow managed a refueling while in the air? Not likely I suppose, but neither is what has happened so far.
I don’t know the time, but it probably was the time it took them to drop back down again to a lower altitude.

The passenger compartment air masks are not actually pressurized. They do enrich the O2 in the mask, but do not overcome the lack of cabin pressure. Your lungs actually do not suck in air, rather your shifting diaphragm allows atmospheric pressure to force air into your lungs. In the actual physics of gases, there is only pressure, not ‘suck’.
What’s the point? At 45,000 feet, the atmosphere is too thin to force enough air into your lungs, even enriched with 02 in the mask, to keep a human alive. You must have a pressurized mask that covers your mouth and nose, and has sufficient differential pressure and PUSHES air into your lungs. The flight crew up front have that.
Rising to 45,000 feet, depressuring the plane? Effective way to kill everyone not in the flight deck with a mask.
FWIW, you can also freeze ‘em to death in the back as well. It’s often 60 degrees below zero outside at that altitude. Just sayin’

Your point about this being “competent” is in part why I think it was not the plane....
im thinking who did this... they did have money and resources... so if you have that... there are easier way to get a plane..
and the level of competent makes me think military or paramilitary operation. .

Wow! Lessee....Muslim ground workers, Muslim pilots and Muslim authorities in charge of investigation involving a big jet full of helpless people( mostly Chinese). WHAT could be the common denominator?? And WHAT use would anyone have for a big old jet??
I, personally, think the pilot/s put it into the ocean intentionally and the last thing heard aboard was ‘Allahu Ackbar’, but if it dropped below radar and landed somewhere it might be used as a flying bomb later. By who...hmmmm?
The capt. could have called for more fuel from the fueling company than what was standard for that flight.

No need to. The oxygen supply for passengers delivered through the masks is only about 15 minutes' worth. The system is designed to give the pilots enough time to reduce altitude to a safe level. It is not designed to keep passengers breathing for a long duration. At that altitude, cabin depressurization would result in a very quick hypoxia and death - even with the oxygen masks.
Based on what information is available right now it seems that the plane was hijacked by one or more of the pilots themselves. The deliberate shut down of communications equipment, the change in course and subsequent flight path (which seems to have followed waypoints on a planned course) and the intentional increase in altitude to FL450 to kill the passengers... this was a planned event. The question is now whether the plan worked and the onboard fuel was enough to reach its destination, and whether the pilot(s) were operating on their own or as part of a larger conspiracy.
If the goal was simply to crash the plane in a suicide fashion, the additional flight time and changed course make no sense. There was most certainly an intended destination. Like others have said, I will be surprised if wreckage is found.
Consider the possible fact that the capt’s middle name is Ahmad (also known as Achmad or Achmed) is, IIRC, a Shia name and his last name, ‘Shah’, could be Iranian. Maybe his father was Iranian?

Yea your right about its easy to get fake or stolen id and passports. ..but my point is WHY do you need them? ..why do you need to travel on fake id..if on your real id your not a terrorist and no on a no fly list..why cant you use your real id....seem like a lot just so you can illegally emigrate.

There has been an effort to spread disinformation. Maybe to try to take the muslim connection out of the story. That isn’t working any longer.

First it was three hours, then five hours and now seven hours. At the rate they’re going the airplane may still be up there. There’s a joke about this but I expect most have heard it years ago so I forego.
