Wyoming welder faces $75,000 a day in EPA fines for building pond on his property
Fox News ^ | 03/14/2014 | Barnini Chakraborty

All Andy Johnson wanted to do was build a stock pond on his sprawling eight-acre Wyoming farm. He and his wife Katie spent hours constructing it, filling it with crystal-clear water, and bringing in brook and brown trout, ducks and geese. It was a place where his horses could drink and graze, and a private playground for his three children.

But instead of enjoying the fruits of his labor, the Wyoming welder says he was harangued by the federal government, stuck in what he calls a petty power play by the Environmental Protection Agency. He claims the agency is now threatening him with civil and criminal penalties – including the threat of a $75,000-a-day fine.

“I have not paid them a dime nor will I,” a defiant Johnson told FoxNews.com. “I will go bankrupt if I have to fighting it. My wife and I built [the pond] together. We put our blood, sweat and tears into it. It was our dream.”

But Johnson may be in for a rude awakening.

Ten years ago, I built a home on two acres of rural forested property beside a golf course. The property has a stream flowing through it that I planned to clear and landscape with cherry trees, azaleas, etc., but the contractor refused to clean out the creek because it was Federal Wetlands and he would lose his license if he touched it. So, instead of a well landscaped babbling brook beside my home, I have a blackberry thicketed, rat and snake infested EPA protected eye sore beside my home.

If there are any Northern CA FReepers who have the time, send this guy a tub of live Delta Smelt that he can put in his Pond.

The EPA would have a conundrum on their hands for sure.

Make excuses all you want but dumping taxpayer money into green energy via the Texas Enterprise fund has been just as much a failure in Texas as it have been in every other state in the nation.

[ The real drones are the “people” in the Gov. These are regulators and people without
any leadership qualities who now have more power than they ever dreamed of and will
use it to feed their own ego. They are invisible to us and hide in the shadows
but they are also our neighbors leading a double life. They are dangerous like the EPA
and every other alphabet agency when unchecked. More and more they’ve been unchecked.
Another problem is, our elected leaders have turned over power to these degenerates
to avoid any direct implication to their actions. They have delegated more power to unelected
agencies to do their bidding so they have deniable accountability. We have a major problem. ]

1. Locate the liberals that live in your area....
2. Buy a disposable cell phone ....
3. Store Disposable cell phone in a faraday cage / box...
4. Practice dsiguising your voice...
5. Take phone leave regular phone at home, drive out, remove phone from box and call in numberous complaints on liberal dirt bag neighbors to various federal agencies....
6. Sleep better at night knowing their liberal control state is biting them in the arse too....

[ A week or so later, the local Sheriff got a call from this Rancher indicating he was being harassed by Federal Fish and wildlife Officeragent acting on behalf of the Endangered Species Act.

The Sheriff showed up and there were heated words ebtween him and the Federal officer. Apparently the fed had not bothered to inform the Sheriff he was coming into the county. The sheriff c alled in back up and they ordered the Federal officer out of the countty under pain of arrest.

The Federal Officer left, but did so threatening to return with more officers and “complete his investigation.”

The word went out all over the area. I lived in Dillon, MT at the time and heard of this. Myself and a friend drove over ( abotu 3 1/2 hours) and found that there were maybe 100 or more other men (mostly from Idaho) who had come too. We were informed that if necessary we would be deputized and they took all of outr contact information, and indicated we would be called if needed.

We found out later that the Sheriff also worked with the state, with congressional and senate representatives and was able to avoid another confrontation.

The Rancher was not harrassed any more.

But I will tell you, had that Sheriff called for help, not only would his deputies and local people from Salmon, ID responded, but 100 or more men from the surrounding towns would have come to stand with them...armed.

That’s what needs to happen here as far as I am concerned. The shreiff in Salmon was a good man, and understood his responsibilites. I hoep the Seriff there in Wyoning does too ]

If only that would haoppen in other 49 states and thousands of counties across this nation!

"Silly man for thinking that he actually owns something!

Several years ago, I paid off the mortgage on my home, and I thought I owned the home until the year ended and I didn't receive a tax bill from the county. Apparently the county sent the tax statement to the mortgage Co. instead to me and my taxes were late, and I received one of the nastiest letters imaginable from the county tax collector. The letter stated that if I didn't pay my property tax, with penalty, by a certain date, the County Sheriff would show up on my front door step to convene an auction of my home.

No, you never really own your home. The county allows you to live there only as long as you pay your annually due rent (tax).

Wait for the day after David Wrights resignation at the end of March!
This whistleblower has made a promise that he will open all his documentation, notes, emails and other things that caused him to say “Take this job and_______.”!

http://ricochet.com/main-feed/Take-This-Government-Job-and-Shove-It
snip:
Two thoughts on Wright’s resignation:

1. There are a lot of similarly situated federal employees who’d be more effectively serving their country by resigning in this fashion and drawing as much public attention as they can to the dysfunction of the bureaucracy. I doubt we ever get anywhere near serious reform without government officials —committed, experienced individuals who actually believe in the importance of government service—blowing the whistle.

2. The people whose professional credo is “lower your expectations” are now in charge of your health care. Mission accomplished, fellas!

By forcing their whims on people, these liberal ‘tards are creating more and more firm jawed conservatives.

People DO NOT LIKE OR WANT their stupid liberal ideas, and doubly so when those ideas are forced on them. It is the liberal version of rape and robbery, and more and more, the public is ignoring the liberal’s orders to just lie back and take it.

Eventually the liberals are going to be booted out of power, and those they have abused are going to rise up and tear down their walled castles, 100 years of “progressivism” consigned to the ash heap of history, along with socialism and communism. Unloved and unmourned.

Good riddance to bad rubbish.

I worked in Salmon on a job for a couple of summers. I recall going past a sign that said “Ranchers 1, Wolves 0” hung on a barbed wire fence. Must have been about that same time (95 or 96 I suppose).

I think they brought in 4 wolves from Canada. I saw on the web where there is something like 400+ of them now!

Put in a pond, you get fined.
Fill in a pond, you get fined.
There’s probably a way they can fine you for doing nothing.

"...his sprawling eight-acre Wyoming farm."

So what if the owner views his eight acres as sprawling? I don't understand how that impacts the real issue here. If the pond doesn't cause damage to neighbors, the town, the county or the state, it appears the feds have again stepped on the rights of yet another American.

People in any state who find their rights being unjustly (against our Constitution) taken away from us by power-hungry bureaucrats deserve on-the-ground support from other citizens.

While this may sound idealistic, it sure beats an armed revolution.
