I see it from the angle of the fact that Rand Paul is coming from a Libertarian perspective, wherein the GOP of the Federal Government should not be involved in Social Issues at all, and those should be left up to the states, where they belong.
If you watched his
interview with Beck, you get a better sense of what he's thinking, IMO.
I can't say I disagree with his view points on many things and have to give him credit for where he's been and the experience(s) he has had, to lead him to his beliefs and stand points.
