Engine Data Suggest Malaysia Flight Was Airborne Long After Radar Disappearance, U.S. Investigators Say
Updated March 13, 2014 12:50 a.m. ET
U.S. investigators suspect that Malaysia Airlines Flight 370 stayed in the air for about four hours past the time it reached its last confirmed location, according to two people familiar with the details, raising the possibility that the plane could have flown on for hundreds of additional miles under conditions that remain murky.
Aviation investigators and national security officials believe the plane flew for a total of five hours...

the pilots were in on it and manually turned off the transponders and then flew under the radar?
ACARS will also send immediate notice of anomalies, such as engine problems, cabin pressure, avionic alerts etc in real time. This function is what enabled AF447 investigators to surmise pitot problems before the aircraft was even found.
Malaysian 'authorities' say Malaysian Airlines did not opt to receive airborne engine ACARS data, which is normal if RR is responsible for engine maintenance by contract. They also stated that there were no ACARS messages sent after contact was lost with the aircraft.
I have seen no statement from a responsible party (RR, MA, NTSB, etc) that corroborates the 4 or 5 hour story.
While all aircraft accidents have some irritating reporting and mis-statements, the affair has been badly bungled by the Malay authorities. Stunningly so.
Alternately. . . a slow leak, and the passengers and crew would have just passed out at one point. Last I checked, the automatic deploy of oxygen masks is triggered by a SUDDEN pressure drop. . .
If radar was pinging the transponder, and radar is required before the transponder transmits, explain a breakup that would not be seen on radar? A breakup would result in a relative slow decent of the pieces. Radar typically pings every 6 seconds. It would take about a minute or more for the large pieces to hit ground. Radar pings of at least 5 pings would alert ATC to what was happening. Any high altitude breakup would also result in confetti seen on the ocean or ground.
“Alternately. . . a slow leak, and the passengers and crew would have just passed out at one point.”
Pressure sensors would pick that up. A slow leak could also be made up for in bleed-air intake, so no threat if that happened. Oxygen masks are also deployed not by a sudden drop but a minimum cabin pressure equivalent to flying at 14,000 feet.
“ACARS is a satellite based communication system that that has many options available”
Not really. Satellite can be one means of communication but ACARS is a VHF radio system.
I didn’t find out anything from my Boeing test pilot - he suspects foul play and said he only knows what we all see on the news.
So we just have to wait and see.
My gut feeling is that the plane was stolen for some horrible use in the future. These people are demonic.
Or one or more of the passengers knew how to fly the plane.
“Alternately. . . a slow leak, and the passengers and crew would have just passed out at one point. Last I checked, the automatic deploy of oxygen masks is triggered by a SUDDEN pressure drop. . .”
Not true. Oxygen masks can be deployed manually by the flight crew or automatically at a certain altitude. I am typed in several jets, but not the Boeing 777. In most of the jets I fly, the masks come down automatically at 10,000 feet cabin altitude.
of course that’s ALWAYS possible but it just seems if the pilots weren’t in on it, there would have been some kind of a signal, notification, etc.
Just because the Malaysian authorities didn’t opt to receive the data doesn’t mean it wasn’t still transmitted to the manufacturer.
Do you have a theory or theories?
It’s interesting that anytime something slips out there is a wave of stories denying it.
Someone knows exactly where this plane is and how it came to be there. None of those someones is willing to show their hand.
Meanwhile, 239 families are left hanging.
None of those someone's is willing to show their hand. -jaded
That may be ...
'stolen passports' being of particular interest given
In my opinion, another possible scenario to consider, beyond the suggested possibility of a disabled flight crew, especially given the aggregious, albeit partial list of security breaches above, consider a complicit flight crew ...working with/for covert state players.
So hundreds of major sports teams ( not to mention colleges) fly thousands of times a year over the last 50 years, and how many have died?
Shows the relative risk of flying. So splitting them into 4 flights would take the risk from 0.00002% to 0.000001% ?
