It’s purely to challenge everyone in every corner at every opportunity. They just want to weed out anybody that is against them and protest discrimination...bully tactics.
Ultimately, it’s because of their need for affirmation of their lifestyle, they’re insecure and being in everyone’s face in public (forcing them to shut up) makes them feel empowered.
I work nearby and generally stop by during lunch hour. I will be skipping it this year. Have no desire to watch them parading and swish around in their green boas.

I don’t remember if he lives through the movie or not. Its one of those where only a handful survive though. Rather appropriate for nineteenth century organized crime.

Not a bad movie despite DiCaprio who fits the part of an Irishman as much as I do a Sicillian, but it’s not historically accurate.
If we could use some other term other than “gays bent” it would be appreciated.
