I'm not into judgement. I can't, however, embrace this father's comments. Whatever he feels in his heart, the proper response would have been to say that you felt you must have failed at some crucial point along the way, and that you will never forgive yourself for not seeing this outcome long before, and to express your lifelong sorrow. Publicly stating that you wish your child had never been born is, to me, too self-serving, and too easy.
