Shouldn't the title be:

Ron Paul: The Sudetenland has the right to join Germany, and U.S. sanctions would be “criminal”

“We say, ‘We want you to be good democrats and have elections,’ but if they don’t elect the right people then we complain about it and throw them out, like we did in Egypt,” Paul says.

The Egyptian people didn't violently resist the new government until they dismantled the democracy that got them elected.

Astonishingly naïve man, Ron Paul.

I was relieved upon re-reading the headline it was Ron, not Rand, who made these comments.

In what way is Rand different from his dad in terms of foreign policy?

Ron Paul goes on Russia Today (New Pravda) and parrots their views repeatedly. Russia Today in return shilled heavily for Ron Paul in the 2012 primaries.

Ron Paul also keeps going on the Alex Jones show, which typically blames American imperialism for everything bad happening in the world, which is all controlled by the NWO/Globalist/Soros/Bankers/Rothchilds of course.

I would reinstitute the missile-defense shields President Obama abandoned in 2009 in Poland and the Czech Republic, only this time, I would make sure the Europeans pay for it.

And if they say no?

Rand's is more libertarianism tempered with a dose of reality. That dose of reality is absent with the old man.

Crimea does have the right rejoin Russia, after being put into another country that has only itself existed (for the first time) since 1991, as a matter of historical accident in 1954 when the internal Soviet boundaries were redrawn by a Ukrainian General Secretary of the Communist Party.

The vast majority of Crimeans want to be in Russia rather than under control of a new-Nazi regime in Kiev.

If the majority vote to become part of Russia, who are we to oppose them? If the minority doesn’t like it and comprise a significant population of a geographical, then it is up to them to determine if they want to follow the majority of fight for independence.
