The trend has existed for decades, and President George W. Bush showed equal contempt for the separation of powers.

George had flaws aplenty, but this wasn't one of them. I guess this is just another variation of the "Bush's Fault" knee-jerk thing by the media, in this case it is "Bush's Fault, Too...", specifically.

The author put that bash on Bush in, to throw a sop to the ultraliberal readers.

But note that it came in at the end, AFTER the main points were made.

But to have that op ed in the LAT is telling...

Even the people on the Left coast know that this Pres__ent has overstepped the constitutional limits on powers.

Its the editorial equivalent of a magnitude 6.0
