I thought we had an exit strategy. The healthcare system we had before zero care.

That system is gone forever. The corporatists, insurance cos and the Dems are colluding to dump everybody on the exchanges. What happens when 1/4 or 1/3 of the population lose their employer health care? We’re talking 60-80 million people who will be demanding govt subsidized health care. What’s the plan for them?

If we don’t capture the Presidency in 2016, we are finished as a party and a nation. And make no mistake about it, the GOP no matter who they nominate will be the decided underdog. Demography is destiny. Every cohort that turns 18 is more Democrat than the previous one.

Yeah we have already confirmed that he is not 100%. Probably due to removing too many bullets from too many patients I would guess. None of these guys will be 100%. So decisions of whether or not to leave the arm chair remains.
Meanwhile, the search for Mr.100% continues.....is he over there, is he here, where is he.....

Good points. I understand our having to fight the Democrats but that’s going to be a given no matter what we do.

IIRC it was Ann yesterday that brought up the Australia and New Zealand immigration systems and what you have to do to immigrate to those countries. There were about 4 points, having skills the country needed and being self-sufficient are 2 that come to mind. While some are coming to the US to make better lives for themselves and their families, as also stated (I think it was Ann), many are coming because they believe in the welfare state (e.g., they’re socialists and not ever going to vote for a Pubbie).

As a side note, I would add that immigrants need to assimiliate into the American culture and learn the English language. Like most people back in the day, when my Grandfather came over from Europe, he wanted to be an American and part of the American community/culture. He learned English (on his own), was very proud to become a citizen, worked hard, raised a family, etc. One of my big gripes is that you see pictures (albeit mostly Mexicans) that don’t want to assimilate - - they are illegals that march down the street caring Mexican flags and flipping us off.

Von Clausewitz said:

-War Is Merely the Continuation of Policy by Other Means

We see, therefore, that war is not merely an act of policy but a true political instrument, a continuation of political intercourse carried on with other means. What remains peculiar to war is simply the peculiar nature of its means.

Make you realize why so many wars the USA gets into are started by democrats....

Recipe I had a lot of mushrooms in it. I think it came from Rocklobster as he’s the master cook on this thread.

Anyway, been listening to CPAC this week, gotta laff at Christie for here’s my promise to y’all....if Christie gets the nomination I shall drop out of the Repub party and hey, I will personally begin a third party right here in Sussex.

That’s my line, Christie. Everybody’s got a line. That’s mine.

The talk snooze this week is how CPAC only represents a small portion of the Republican party, that it does not deserve all the attention paid to it, these are not the people going to win it for the Republicans, America is filled with folks with issues that aren’t solved by far ring of the party...on and on....and on.

They are so freaking scared of us. We are the Nixon “Silent Majority” of the “Vast Wasteland” of the fifties. We’re out here, they know it. For if the Blue Blood pubs are worried about us, the Democrats are really spooked. The Blue Bloods can quick abandon one talking point for another and claim they had to do what they did or get totally blocked out. The liberal Dems though....no excuse for their nonsense...changing Senate rules for Obama, calling hones struggling Americans “liars”.

Now they got to go out and call this recent meeting of those who will soon be heading the Republican party should it continue to exist just a right wing bunch of nut cases.

Which reminds me, I got a good personal story happened just recently....family matter but also very political.

Fingers crossed for Gessler. Hopefully, after the gun fiasco Hinkenpooper (sp) and a majority of the Dems will be tossed out in CO this year.

IIRC Colorado was part of Soros’ SOS project to get Dems as SOS, so as you said, they could control the vote count.

Yes. I may have to reconsider. Perhaps someone can have a discussion with him about the 2nd Amendment to help him see the light.

we know that val/jar’s father-in-law (in Chicago) was a communist and there were lots of ties with him and others and Obama (one of Beck’s better TV shows was one when he was using his board and linking them all together). Perhaps its Soros and the Chicago commies.

And Frank Davis Marshall was working for the Communists in Chicago (Obama's probable father) along with Jarret.

I do understand that but I think you know me enough to know I am not a 100 percenter.

I do now see how this issue is playing out, and especially after the Zimmerman trial, Newton, the unconstitutional gun laws in Connecticut, Colorado, New York, and now the events in the Ukraine—well, I am more than sure that keeping our gun rights is the last vital thing we have. I’m hoping D. Carson will see that once the Left disarms us, we are then easy pickings for tyranny.

I also MUST take my oath to the Constitution seriously and completely. While I retired from the US Air Force, my oath does continue and I am still completely subject to it. It is a sacred oath I swore before God.

Supporting the 2nd Amendment is vital to me. It is part and parcel of the Constitution. However, my love and support of it does not make me a 100%, sorry.

It is not enough to bump up the age. Medical costs are growing faster than inflation. And one of the reasons we are living longer is that we have better medical care. I can see means testing playing a bigger and bigger role.

One of the biggest costs is long term care and the so-called dual eligibles under Medicaid and Medicare. We are going to see an explosion in long term care costs. From the Census Bureau:

In 2056, for the first time, the older population, age 65 and over, is projected to outnumber the young, age under 18.

The working-age population (18 to 64) is expected to increase by 42 million between 2012 and 2060, from 197 million to 239 million, while its share of the total population declines from 62.7 percent to 56.9 percent.

According to the projections, the population age 65 and older is expected to more than double between 2012 and 2060, from 43.1 million to 92.0 million. The older population would represent just over one in five U.S. residents by the end of the period, up from one in seven today. The increase in the number of the “oldest old” would be even more dramatic — those 85 and older are projected to more than triple from 5.9 million to 18.2 million, reaching 4.3 percent of the total population.
