You obviously don’t know what “tantamount” means. It means it might as well be intentional. If Ann meant intentional she would have said so.

It might be ‘tantamount’ to many things, but not to hating blacks. It could be argued it won’t hurt black unemployment at all. Blacks with a HS or college education are employed already. The blacks with phenomenal unemployment are in the inner city, and many of them lack the desire or attitude of doing work. The high rates of black unemployment are not driven by competitors, but by living in locations without any jobs, by welfare, etc.

And in any case, bringing in inflammatory emotional words to attack someone you can reasonable assume does not have those emotions is NOT making a logical point, but slander.

Your statement, with the dictionary definition tossed in:

“It was a very good point: that if you’re in favor of amnesty, it’s [equivalent in effect] to hating blacks.”

That is not true, or even close to being true. Hating blacks caused many ills in our society, but black unemployment was not one of them.

“From 1900 to 1954, blacks were more active than whites in the labor market. Until about 1960, black male labor force participation in every age group was equal to or greater than that of whites. During that period, black teen unemployment was roughly equal to or less than white teen unemployment. As early as 1900, the duration of black unemployment was 15 percent shorter than that of whites; today it’s about 30 percent longer. To do something about today’s employment picture requires abandonment of sacred cows and honesty...

...I doubt whether anyone would argue that the reason for lower unemployment, higher labor force participation and shorter duration of unemployment among blacks in the first half of the 20th century was that there was less racial discrimination. I also doubt whether anyone would argue that during earlier periods, blacks had higher education and greater skills attainment than whites. Answers must be sought elsewhere.”

The welfare culture probably has more to do with black unemployment, as does a 70% illegitimacy rate. If amnesty was granted - and I strongly oppose it - it arguably would have no effect on black unemployment. And in any case, discussing it is NOT the functional equivalent to hating blacks.
