777 has been a very good aircraft. The only other incident with fatalities was last year at SFO and I believe has been attributed to pilot error and inexperience. The 787 is a nearly all composite plane. The wing part where cracks were found is aluminum and the wings themselves are not made in the U.S. The 787 is a highly advanced design and is having some growing pains. I still would have no problem flying on one. The company I worked for for 25 years before I retired made many components for both of these planes as well as others, both Boeing and Airbus.
