The idea from the start was to build a consensus for a single-payer national health care insurance scheme. Either bankrupt the insurance companies with untenable mandates or foment such chaos that a majority would welcome the expansion of Medicare to all ages.

But, by breaking the insurance companies hold on the healthcare market a pivot to a free market system can also be had. This is an opportunity.

Most medical costs are driven by state and local regulations that limit medical competition. The FedGov has lowered prices via reimbursement limitations, but the real action is local.
