The biggest threat I see is that a lot conservatives can’t understand a false choice when they see one. If we’re going to save the country we have to learn to multi task. Both the kenyan and the KGB thug are mortal threats to Liberty in this country. Both need to be dealt with firmly at this time in history.

This doesn’t seem to be a popular opinion around FR but you are correct. I chuckle every time an arm chair general demands action there. What would they suggest? Europe will not commit suicide over Crimea. There is nothing we can do and probably shouldn’t do anything anyway other than make Poland impossible. Those that think we can and should need to remember Serbia and get an idea of the racial/religious make up of this area.
Many of us are more worried about the threat to economic and religious freedom posed by Obama and the European Union: environmentalism as a religion; homosexual indoctrination of kids; persecution of home schoolers; socialism destroying property rights; etc.

Good observation. But my point is that Putin’s authoritarianism is less dangerous because it is easy to identify. The oppressive system that is developing in the USA and the European Union hides under a democratic facade that is controlled by leftist mass media, financed by left-wing billionaires, and institutionalized by out-of-control courts.
Exactly. We have more pressing worries in our own front yards than to worry about Russia taking back Russian territories. Nothing over there right now affects me here in the United States.

The world needs:
Two Germanic languages, English and German.
Two Romance languages, French and Spanish.
One Slavic language, Russian.
Hebrew and Arabic.
One subcontinent language, Hindi.
One Chinese language, Mandarin.
Chinese and Japanese.
That's it. I don't see anything else being spoken by anybody other than historians 25 years from now. English will still be the master/international language for commerce, IF we can devise a rational alphabet and system of spelling for it.

Yes, 3 countries invoked article 4 of the NATO charter last week due to provocative Russian military maneuvers and its invasion of Ukraine. By treaty, an act of war against one NATO member is considered an attack of war on all.
