Yeah...these people foul their own nests and Texans welcome them into theirs. Doesn’t take a rocket surgeon to guess how this turns out.

“Does anyone think Wendy Davis seriously has a chance of becoming Governor of Texas or is it a shoe-in for Greg Abbott?”

Barring massive voter fraud, Abbott will win handily.

That would be the top 2.

Dan Patrick committed political suicide in my mind when he stuck that knife in the back of TED CRUZ.

“The GOP-E wants open primaries. They fight closing primaries every time it’s tried”

And then they wonder why they increasingly can’t win elections.

Open primaries should be outlawed.

Amen.

Wendy Davis has had her three minutes of fame. She is going nowhere poltically in Texas!!! End of story!!! However...like her POTUS Obama whom she adores....she lies quite well!!! Other then her outstanding lie skills...she is totally useless....just like Obama!!!

IMO, the solution to all of this would be to close primaries and then have a 4-year change period if someone wants to change party affiliation (wait one election cycle). That’ll put an end to the “vote in the other primary to influence their candidate so they’ll be easier to defeat” shenanigans.

If someone is a Democrat, they have no business voting in the Republican primary under any circumstances, just as a Republican has no business voting in the Democratic primary under any circumstances. Independents are independent and should not be voting in either.

>> What makes you think Texas is getting less conservative

Just what I already said!

Demographics. Plain and simple.

Google.

I did my duty.

The wife and I both went for all the Tea Party endorsed candidates.

The tweets (make sure you have “all” clicked):

Nothing interesting yet but twitter has been informative early in elections IMO.

As a primary crossover voter in 2008 — something I DEEPLY regret doing — I agree completely with your position and would endorse any effective measure for preventing it.

Our county consolidates Republican voters to one polling place. It was very busy. The Democrats have 10 precincts and most of the county contests are the reason. However, I was so surprised and happy that our County Treasurer switched to Republican and she is unopposed. I told her I was happy to vote for her and she thanked me, said she felt a little disloyal but that she couldn’t tolerate the Democrat direction anymore and that it was coming through to things she is told in her office. There are two county office holders with R beside their names. That is a start but it has been much longer coming than I thought.

Ping!!!

Obviously, this posted article was written from a leftist perspective. What else would you expect from the Boston Globe?

Not much discussion here about the GOP Senate primary, and whether Cornym can be held under 50% of the vote so that he would face a run-off.

It's the Boston Herald actually, the slightly more conservative of the two (the Globe is owned by the New York Times) but the Associated Press actually wrote the article and we all know what they're up to.

Won’t know much of anything till late tonight I think. What I do know is that in early voting last week in ‘my town’, the vote was running 4 to 1 in favor of Republicans. Who they voted for is another matter.

Voted for Abbott for Gov., Dan Patrick for Lt. Gov, Ken Paxton for Atty Gen., ignored the local races, and voted to repeal Obamacare, for Open-Carry, and Religious freedom.

Polls open across Texas, extended voting in Austin

AUSTIN, Texas —
Travis County election officials have extended polling place hours because freezing
weather delayed the start of voting in the Austin area.

A county judge approved a plan to keep polls open an extra two hours to 9 p.m. for
the Democratic and GOP primaries.

*********

Any others being extended that anyone has heard of?

*******************************************************************

ANY EXCUSE will do for judges to extend voting hours IN PROGRESSIVE AREAS.
