Has anyone watched Gravity? I don’t know whether or not the film and/or the actors won any Oscars, but that movies hype was greatly exaggerated.

Over-hyped, yes. It was pretty good eye-candy is all.

I also like a good dose of plausibility in a movie, and this one had virtually NONE. I heard an astronaut interviewed after the movie was out a couple of weeks, and he said just about everything that happen was a fairy tale - literally impossible to occur in reality.

Gravity sure got a lot of hype.

David Bowie made the same film in 1969 with stellar effects and nobody remembers today.

Exactly. As we watched the film I could not help but feel a bit skeptical. A lot of the story, action sequences, dialog, etc. did not ring true to me. And the scene involving the fire-extinguisher-propulsion-system was laughable.

The special FX’s were outstanding.
