I had a better spread, but am reluctant to expose too much back into the market. I have enough now—why get greedy, is my motto, and at my age. There is really nothing that is highly conservative other than CD and bonds, which I will not get into. I simply do not trust the near future market.

4 billion years of climate change on Earth, now it’s mans fault? Apple will never see any money from me.

It was his tone of voice that was irritating. Obviously, many people might sell their stock.

FU, Tim Cook. Still off-shoring your revenue?

Taking ownership of Apple Inc is the best thing conservatives can do.

>> I enjoy Rush but I suspect he is a capitalist more than a patriot.

The two qualities are somewhat intertwined. Rush is a patriot — no question about it.

As I understand it, Cook was challenged for putting money into off-grid power production instead of absolutely focusing on profits. A company with >$100B cash on hand is doing profits right. I have no problem with a company going off-grid in a way few can, further enforcing it’s independence just as we all should have a pile of cash on hand and build our own solar collectors etc. for independence.

“Apple’s new CEO Tim Cook not only might be the most influential technology leader in his new position, but also the most powerful gay man in America.

Cook has never publicly commented on his sexuality, but Gawker reports that it’s generally known within the Apple and Silicon Valley circles that he’s gay.

Out Magazine named him its most powerful gay or lesbian person of 2011. In its profile, it wrote Although Tim Cook has chosen to be discreet about his sexuality, just know that Apple’s heir apparent is gay sends a compelling message of the opportunity to thrive in the workplace. That’s a big deal.

A Gawker profile of Cook in January 2011, stated that Apple management would support Cook if publicly acknowledged his sexuality, but did have concerns about whether his coming out would impact the perception of the Apple brand.”

Just another homobully.

They might... and in order to sell you have to have a buyer. AAPL trades ~14 million shares a day so there are plenty of those around. COnsidering shareholders overwhelmingly rejected the proposal I’d say Cook’s position with his board is quite solid on this issue. Now if AAPL cotinues on the same path of new product releases there might be an issue but it won’t be because of telling shareholders that if they don’t agree with the company’s sustainability efforts to exit the stock.

that’s exactly what happened. AAPL is a cash flow monster. What they did in the NC data center is pretty amazing and, arguably, pretty good for profitability. Ever wonder why they chose North Carolina for their solar based data center?

Agreed. But how can we expect companies to NOT take advantage of government moneys when their competitors get them?

Oh, I don’t blame the companies. I blame the idiots in congress who gave away our hard-earned dollars.

And you attribute this to Cook? or to the momentum left by the tech culture that Jobs left?

Because Cook is on track knowingly or not to change the culture Jobs built.

Jobs died only 2 years ago and the mentality of the tech and business culture he built up was intact up to and beyond the day he died.

But not now:

http://www.thestreet.com/story/12279138/1/apples-biggest-mistakes-under-tim-cook.html

How will Apple look in 5 years? They will look like the NY Times, resting on their laurels while the talent leaves the homosexual and politically correct culture that Cook is developing.

Cook came back with a harsh reminder that despite the company’s mounds of cash, it is not in the business of caving to shareholder demands, especially politically motivated ones. “We do a lot of things for reasons besides profit motive,” Cook said. “We want to leave the world better than we found it.”

Interesting. By leaving the world, you accomplish what you seek. You should set tougher goals for yourself, Tim.

What a drama queen. I love how the “I hate Global Warming Skeptics” crowd are so illogical.
