Havana is home to a lot of active Roman Catholic parishes. I used to hang out around the dock area and don’t remember seeing any Russian Orthodox churches anywhere in Havana. The Russian embassy was about six blocks west of me on 1st Avanue. It’s the tallest building around. We Americans from the US Interests Section all lived in the same area. Castro’s goons were on us like Holy on the Pope but we all knew it. Everyone of our houses were bugged. We were very visible, but I can’t remember seeing any Russians out in our hood. The hierarchy of the Church in Havana were often guests at our mission diplomatic functions.

Wow. Thanks for your input. The fact that you said that “Havana is home to a lot of active Roman Catholic parishes” is also surprising to me. I had the impression that the mass-murdering commie monster Che killed all Catholic priests.

“The hierarchy of the Church in Havana were often guests at our mission diplomatic functions.”

That’s good to hear.

Why isn’t Casrto dead yet? I want to see torrents of tears by Hollywood pukes so I can show up and laugh at them. I want to be present at a memorial for Castro with Sean Penn there and punch his squeaky mouse-face in.

Take care, FRiend.
