Ukrainian Citizens Demand Their Own Second Amendment in Constitution

Joseph Stalin’s firearms confiscation was a tremendous success for the Socialist state.

Under the Tsar, Russia was one of the most heavily armed societies on earth. That all changed when Stalin and the communists took control. Stalin was able to control, starve, punish and imprison a defenseless people… after he took their guns. (Zinnfigur)

Ukrainian citizens and gun owners are demanding their own Second Amendment in the country’s constitution. Doug Ross reported:

The Ukraine Gun Owners Association wants the new government to add their own right to bear arms to the country’s constitution.

As of today Ukrainian Gun Owners Association will start to work on the preparation of amendments to the Constitution, which will provide an unconditional right for Ukrainian citizens to bear arms.

People gathered in Independence Square in Kiev after President Viktor Yanukovich rejected a European Union trade deal for a $15 billion bailout from Russia in November. It was relatively peaceful for three months, but violence escalated on February 18. Over 70 people died during the week and amateur videos showed snipers shooting at unarmed protesters.

Government snipers were caught on video shooting protesters in Kiev.

The Ukrainians can own guns. Their laws are similar to ours.

My, my another quandary for the US news media.

No quandary at all.

They just won't report it.

It seems these guys don’t get it. The 2ndA isn’t there to give permission its there to constraint the govt. They don’t need a ‘mother may I’...just arm yourselves and be done with it.

Do they? The way they ‘ask’ is sounds so much more like they want the ammo. Well, OK...

The right to be armed and be prepared to defend oneself if a natural right. No government should have a monopoly of arms and no government should be able to deprive one of his or her natural rights.

Encouraging news. The new soviet will be against it, and so will the handwringers of the eu. Should be very interesting to watch.

Maybe they should just import cut and paste the first 10 amendments of the US Constitution and see how that works. Couldn’t make more a hash of it than our government/judiciary has.

“Putin will never allow this.”

Here’s a breaking news story about gun rights in Russia -

Pro-gun lobby wants to turn Russian homes into fortresses

An online initiative to soften Russian gun laws by radically broadening the legal definition of self-defense has gathered over 100,000 signatures and must now be considered by parliament.

The petition titled “My home is my fortress” was launched by the Right to Arms organization – a relatively new group that actively promotes the liberalization of gun laws in Russia.
