Changes? Heck yes. He just got qualified and assigned to a lift squadron of C-130 Herc’s, when the squadron was deactivated. He dodged drone assignments by the skin of his teeth and jumped at an opening in tankers.

He, like most of us, bemoan the demise of the A-10. Other than Boeing-Lockheed, no one around seems to think that is a good idea.

I was sad to read about the A-10 being set aside...though I thought I read that they were being re-fitted so the AF could keep them. There are so many conflicting stories going around lately!

Glad he got the assignment he wanted. Sometimes the AF isn’t so kind as to let them have the field they really want. My son worked in the RCC at Langly when he first went in and loved it. Something new every day! But when he re-applied for it a couple of years ago, he didn’t get it. That center has moved to Florida and since he’d been at Patrick AFB before and loved Florida, he really wanted to do that.

At one time, my son thought he might like drones. Like playing with an x-box only real. But then he never pursued it. Probably decided it was a bad deal when they started talking about domestic drones.
