Those all sound pretty good. Let’s light ‘em up and see if any of ‘em work.
Here’s a reality: preemptive surrender always leads to the same result - the other side wins with the least expenditure of blood and treasure.
Maybe we win, maybe we lose, but we FIGHT! Always.
Please don’t scoop my name into your post
exactly.... we need Indians not just chiefs
This crap again. The middle does not win elections. Passion wins elections, and the middle moves to whichever side is most passionate.
That is the truth. Bob Dole and Romney LOSE elections.
Why? To protect me from all the pictures of Yousemitie Sam on a dragon or the screaming fits of the lesser evil crew?
You know, as much as I’d like to take all the credit for this brilliant bit of logic, I cant. But the problem isn’t who gets the credit. The problem is people that think the answer lies in reelecting our problems. For the hell of it I even asked 5 yo children if doing stupid things results in good outcomes. Unsurprisingly, freaking 5 yos get it. Sadly, a chunk of the political right lacks the wisdom contained in a 5 year old.
If people would stop acting like abject hypocrites and start standing behind the things they CLAIM to believe in every day on websites like FR and others, (claim, but never seem to find the courage to stand behind when it comes election time), suddenly, as if by MAGIC!!!...better people would get elected. Better people get positions of power. Better people would be in charge.
Now if the wing of the political right that apparently prides itself on it’s flaming magnesium levels of stupidity continues fighting us instead of the actual problem (that would be their fellow idiots in the GOPe that they cant wait to vote for “no matter what”) we wouldn’t NEED a hail Mary pass. Because there are, when you run the numbers, PLENTY of us across the right to elect conservatives.
Of course, we cant seem to get y’all to actually vote for conservatives because you bought the insanity that lesser evil is the way to victory.
I’ll send an email to President Romney to see if he agrees.
But in the mean time, understand this. We are not voting for RINOs. If the conservatives lose again, It rests squarely on the shoulders of the stalwart conservatives that choose instead to vote for lesser evils...no matter what.
Not ours.
I can’t keep responding here because I explained myself pretty decently at least 4 times and many of you think either your are purists, staying home until the coast is clear, and you think the only alternative is to organize rallies for Boehner or supporting obamaCare.
2) There is no one ideologically pure enough to get more votes than a Dem. Too many conservatives will find as many things wrong with your candidate as you do theirs. No one is "perfect". As someone once told me after the last election, "What was I supposed to do? Vote for the lesser of two evils?". So letting the GREATER of two evils run this country is better, huh?
3) Yes, the Repub Party is ruled by elitists who lick their Dem masters' boots and laugh at us true conservatives. They must be dealt with. But, again, there is too much infighting and backstabbing among conservatives and Repubs to do much more than, well, fight with each other. Just read through this thread. There are way too many people slagging a previous poster for daring to even just slightly disagree.
If we keep this up there will never be another Reagan, much less a conservative president. And the Dems will laugh at us all the way to the Fascist Soviet they are preparing for us.
If we keep voting RINO's and dissing conservatives, then you are correct
I think the real problem is no leadership in the Republican Party, no leadership of conservatives.
Reagan was a leader, a leader gathers his “troops” and then leads them. We have no one who has shown the ability/skills/ideas/plans to gather and lead, I keep hoping for someone like that to step up, some have part of that equation, but no one seems to quite have the whole package.
Reagan was not seen as conservative enough for the conservatives, he was not a choice of the Republican party, many people perceived him as “too old” and many outside of California thought of him as just a B Movie Star, he had been divorced- he was not seen as the perfect candidate by very many. He was seen by most people as unlikely to be a serious candidate. He had leadership skills and gathered the voters and led the country. Reagan did not exclude any group- he welcomed everyone to join him, made everyone feel a part of what he wanted to do. Reagan fired up people that were very disgruntled with politics- Nixon followed by Ford and Carter- most people were tepid about politicians. I remember being fed up with the process, hopeless about things getting better. Reagan reminded me what a great country this is, and invited me to join him in bringing back the greatness. Contrast that with Romney who made it clear he didn’t want or need conservatives.
Leadership is what we are missing. There has always been disagreements inside political parties, squabbling- what have you and it takes leadership to unite them into an effective vote.
Too many people, egged on by Dem activists ("media"), would find something "wrong" with him/her, either in the primaries (by conservatives) or in the election (by the people at large) and not vote for him/her.
I want to be proven wrong.
Vichy on, ye hook/line/sinker swallowers !
As for me, never again !
