Feb. 20, 10:59 a.m. -- A Kyiv Post journalist counted the bodies of 10 slain protesters in Ukraine Hotel on Kyiv's Independence Square, while another Kyiv Post journalist counted the bodies of three slain protesters on Khreshchatyk Street and was heading to Kozatsky Hotel on the northern side of the main square, where at least 15 more bodies were taken. Medical personnel at Kozatsky Hotel said another seven bodies would be delivered soon.

I’ll tell you why. In the last Century, Ukrainians were killed by the tens of millions, 1st by the Soviets, then by the Nazis, then again by the Soviets. In WW2, the Ukraine lost something like 19% of its population KILLED - that doesn’t include those displaced who never returned. Plus they got the “scorched earth” treatment twice. By comparison, in WW2, the US lost ~0.2% of its population, Great Britain lost 0.7%.

I can’t agree that policemen and soldiers in the United States are “sociopaths pinned to badges”. Under the right conditions, the most peaceable people can become sociopaths, given a uniform and a commander to hide behind and excuse themselves with. That’s happened many times. But at the same time, uniformed soldiers and policemen have sometimes defied the wishes of those in power, or at least subverted them quietly.

One example that comes to mind is the Hadassah House in Hebron. After the big pogrom and the British expulsion of all Jews from Hebron, for decades it was used as a barn and manure dump. But one rabbi that I know, as a child helped stage a takeover of Hadassah House,together with his mother and siblings. They barricaded themselves inside, and the IDF laid siege for weeks to the place, as they were ordered to so as to placate the Arabs, while individual IDF soldiers smuggled in food and water and helped remove their waste and garbage, and the entire siege force pretended looked the other way.

Another I found in the book Babi Yar. The sole survivor of the initial massacres there managed to escape with the aid of a German soldier who opened the door to the house where she had taken refuge, yelled and screamed at her to leave before the SS came to take her back, and somehow broke through her stupor so she took to the woods and lived.

You don’t have to agree with it but the evidence supports that assertion. The “Go home at the end of your shift at any cost” mentality is just the beginning of that sickness.
Add in all the other abuses, criminality and coverups that
are reported on a daily basis and the ONLY possible conclusion is that LEO has been transformed from what it was into a Gestapo of sadistic brutish sociopaths who are not only NOT held accountable for the evil conduct but are

Better that than Syrian style civil war, however any changes of borders in Europe are risky (Kosovo nonsense was more than enough) and could trigger off nasty events, additionally if the country was divided, some of the regions would fall under Russian control and that's no good for anyone representing “western” interests. What's more, there's no simple way to divide the country, there's no clear east/west division, there are at least 4-5 regions, each presenting different approach and only 2 of them are relatively homogeneous, so making several countries out of it, each with own army/security forces could easily end up like partition of Yugoslavia did. So dividing the country should be last chance solution, better keep it in one piece. Personally I think that recent events might be provoked by Russia to divide the country, break off Crimea and possibly some of the eastern regions. Yank is gone but it is not over yet, very far from it.

In the second part the good guys are attempting to advance but are turned back by very accurate and determined fire. There at least 25 killed or wounded in this piece. They are advancing against the proverbial murderous fire. They are literally cut down in large numbers. Their shields made from road signs are not effective. Their leg armor of duct tape and cardboard seem ineffective as well.

A lot of the reported abuses are part of another evil, the litigation industry, and the egging on of leftist civil rights types. Perhaps the evil of corrupt and abusive LEOs feeds on the former. People do not take classes at police academies with names such as Beat-down 101 and Shaking Down Perps for Fun and Profit. Ordinary, sometimes idealistic young people put on uniforms and those that go bad are not born that way, but gradually evolve into corrupt and abusive LEOs.

I no longer want the best of our youth dying and coming home maimed so the US can play policeman of the world. Let all who want a different system fight for it - don't think America should be involved in every internal fight on the planet.

If nuke development, control, sales, transfers then we have a national security problem that should be addressed, but not by idiot Sec of State people like Albright, Hillary or Kerry or Obama.
