ean Hannity has long been right-wing radio's dominant silver medalist, second only to the untouchable Rush Limbaugh. So when Michael Savage, his new competitor in afternoon drivetime, started throwing punches in the hopes of ginning up a public feud, Hannity demurred.

But now the first month's numbers are in, and in at least five of nation's largest markets, Savage is not only beating Hannity -- he's trouncing him.

Maybe the station changes are affecting the ratings.

I will go out of my way to try to listen to Rush Limbaugh or to Mark Levin.

I do not bother trying to find Sean Hannity.
If I happen to come across him, I may or may not listen.

If Michael Savage is on, I will turn the radio off.

I don’t listen to Savage. But Hannity is really an amateur at times. His ‘you knows’ and his constant faux self-deprecation really grates.

Sean Hannity is Republican not conservative. It’s sad to realize how many don’t know the difference.

Sean has no original thoughts. He just repeats what Rush says.
The fact that Savage beats him in major markets should be a warning
sign to Hannity. His days of propping up Karl Tokyo Rove and Uncle Bill
Family Values Bennett has come back to haunt him.

Give credit where credit is due. Savage is kicking Hannity’s booty
for whatever reason.

I don't listen to Savage. His attacks on other conservative hosts is akin to what RINOs have done to the tea party, conservatives and the religious right.

I've tried to listen to Hannity but seems like each show he has guests on who argue with each other or with Hannity. People yelling at each other is not quality listening. It's like being in a dysfunctional home. At some point you just turn it off and avoid going back for more.

I stopped listening to Savage when the news came out that he made the maximum allowable contribution to Jerry Brown’s campaign for attorney general, his stepping stone to the statehouse.

One of my favorites is Andrew Wilkow, but he goes head-to-head with Rush. I also liked John Batchelor, but he disappeared from our market a couple years ago.

Not surprised. Hannity's a boring lightweight. I don't think he's ever had an original thought [borrows his from Levin and Limbaugh] and has one of the most annoying voices of anyone in radio. By comparison, Savage is just a dope.

Savage has a messiah complex and Hannity is dull. So...yeh. Not crazy about either.

Hannity’s support of Illegal Alien Amnesty, and his support of anti Tea Party folks, is killing him.

And Savage isn’t much better...which shows how much trouble Hannity is in

I'm waiting to see how long Savage can keep up the 3-hours a day work schedule at noon. He always struck me as leading a very leisurely life lately, often repeating his 3rd hour.

I don't think he can get away with that with the time slot he has now.

As I posted on another thread, WABC is down half-a-point in the latest Nielsen People Meter (PPM) ratings in New York, while WOR (despite the “drag” of Hannity’s show) is up three-tenths of a point. In a huge market like NYC, that is a shift. Give it a few more months, and WOR will beat WABC head-to-head for the first time in 20+ years, and Hannity will benefit from his lead-in (Rush).

I’ve always said that Hannity is the least-talented broadcaster (among the major conservative hosts), but Savage drives me crazy. For every moment when he’s nailing a critical point, there are 10 more when he’s off on a pointless rant, or treating us to another story about his favorite restaurant or his dog Teddy.

One reason that Savage is suddenly doing so “well” is because his show is now carried on major stations with strong signals. Meanwhile, Hannity has been exiled to second-rate stations in many markets, like DC and Chicago. That will drive down your audience totals in a hurry.

Hannity’s radio show is becoming harder and harder to tolerate. Half of his air time is taken up by liberals and his segment with the apologist Jamie Dupree (sp) is like listening to jay carney. It seems any time he has a conservative on, he has to also have a whacked out frothing liberal.
