No mention of his political affiliation. If he were a republican it would be listed in the headline.

It doesn't surprise me that Mel "Child Rapist" Reynolds has buddied up with Mugabbe! Not one bit!
I am surprised that Mugabbe didn't swoop in to protect him. Maybe he did something that pissed the dictator off.

They should just keep him, and I know a few more they can have as a bonus.

Had to Google him since teh article unexpectedly forgot to mention party affiliation
Melvin "Mel" Reynolds (born January 8, 1952) is a former Democratic member of the United States House of Representatives from Illinois. He resigned from Congress after a conviction for statutory rape.

The only 5 star hotel in that city listed on Expedia goes for $175 a night.
I’m guessing he contracted for a bunch of ‘actors’ through the hotel.

He had also run up $24,500 in unpaid hotel bills, the newspaper said. US dollars, or Zimbabwe dollars? If in Zimbabwe dollars, that could be paid off with one shiny US dime, and expect change back!

Wow, you have to read almost the whole thing before you get his party affiliation.

Guess he’ll be back in a few years to run for office again, now that he’s got the proper democrat party credentials.

Since he was working to stop sanctions, can we assume he felt the government should be paying him for his efforts.

Maybe helping Mugabe is not the primary reason for being there. Perhaps the former congressman is a sex tourist.
