It seems like the navy decided to let him continue his career and dropped the investigation. Honestly he kept it secret and wasn’t open about it and it was just a woman who reported it and they started an investigation which in my opinion is excessive

at the end of the day the guy was risking his life for his country and i’m sure his fellow soldiers didn’t care about his personal life on the battlefield

but in the end he chose to be honorably discharged so I don’t see how the incident ruined his career

I honestly assumed it was a mistake, like he was talking to his wife or something.

The same gag was used in the movie “Courageous” with no homosexual intent.
