OMG.... this is one of those trendy phrases that makes me insane. Someone's "story" (typically poor, abused, mentally ill, and/or neglected) is supposed to be the excuse for whatever deviance in which they now engage -- esp. if they're involved in something "artistic" or "cutting edge." In fact, "the story" makes the deviance almost loveable! Because, of course... "the story" is so... COMPELLING!
